The DrC² Satellite: The fastest speaker on Earth

The DrC² satellite speakers feature an ultra-light, cryogenically treated diaphragm made from aerospace-grade polyimide film, just 1.9 microns thick. It is cryogenically treated in liquid nitrogen at -196°C, then laser-traced and dynamically tensioned into a uniform driving surface. Weighing only 300 mg, it is the lightest speaker diaphragm in the audio industry—an equivalent transducer with a 6" diameter would weigh 30 times more.

High-temperature, rare-earth neodymium magnets are sintered, assembled, and arranged into a patented push-pull, dual-pole magnetic circuit to yield magnetic induction in the diaphragm that peaks at 1.8 Tesla —a record in the audio world. This translates into an ultra-fast time reponse (over an ultra-wide frequecny range from 100Hz to 50Khz) that reveals fine details of the music better than most headphones, let alone any loudspeaker.

The coherent planar magnetic dipole polar pattern of the DrC² speakers cancels its own backwave through inverse-phase interference. This 100% sound cancellation in the plane of the diaphragm reduces desktop reflections, eliminates diffraction effects, and transcends the sonic limitations of traditional box enclosures.

Unlike speakers with variable impedance curves that must be energized past a threshold to produce their band-limited response, the DrC² satellites play the same response throughout their SPL range.

Computer Requirements: The BACCH-dSP application, which is at the heart of all BACCH4Mac editions powering the BACCH-DrC² system, requires a recent Mac Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air with a minimum of 8 GB of RAM for the Intro edition, and 16 GB for the Audiophile edition and above. The latest version of BACCH-dSP (14) is fully compatible with Mac OS (14.x Sonoma), as well as all previous Mac OS versions down to, and including, 10.14 (Mojave). It is also compatible with M1, M2, M3, and M4 Macs.

Technical Support & Version Update Service Policy: All BACCH-DrC² editions now include free and time-unlimited tech support, and version updates, for the first year (starting on the date the license is activated). Extending tech support and version updates for subsequent years can be purchased at $248 per year.

Initial Setup and Personalized Walkthrough Sessions : Unlike our BACCH-SP hardware processor, which has a detailed written manual, with the BACCH-DrC² system, instead, we offer each BACCH4Mac user a time-unlimited personal walkthrough session remotely through the internet, with unlimited technical support. During such walkthrough sessions our technical staff personally assist users in configuring BACCH4Mac for their particular audio systems and show them how to make and apply BACCH filters. Although BACCH-DrC², once set up, is easy and intuitive to use, it is a very powerful and sophisticated system with many customizable features and settings, and all our customers find the remote walkthrough session(s) very helpful to quickly master the use of the system.

Trial Period and Return Policy:

The BACCH-DrC² system has a trial period of 14 days from the date the initial setup and personal walkthrough session is concluded (see previous pragraph about that session), and the purchase is refundable, minus the shipping charges and a $389 restocking fee, within that period, after which the purchase becomes unrefundable. Theoretica offers full tech support during the trial period.
