The DrC
2 planar magnetic satellite speaker is the fastest and most time-accurate speaker in the world, with 1500% higher acceleration and 50 times the driver area of a 14 x 1.5 cm ribbon mid-tweeter. This extraordinary time accuracy and coherent radiation pattern, combined with the imaging precision of

The DrC2 Satellite: The fastest speaker on Earth
The DrC2 satellite speakers feature an ultra-light, cryogenically treated diaphragm made from aerospace-grade polyimide film, just 1.9 microns thick. It is cryogenically treated in liquid nitrogen at -196°C, then laser-traced and dynamically tensioned into a uniform driving surface. Weighing only 300 mg, it is the lightest speaker diaphragm in the audio industry—an equivalent transducer with a 6" diameter would weigh 30 times more.
High-temperature, rare-earth neodymium magnets are sintered, assembled, and arranged into a patented push-pull, dual-pole magnetic circuit to yield magnetic induction in the diaphragm that peaks at 1.8 Tesla —a record in the audio world. This translates into an ultra-fast time reponse (over an ultra-wide frequecny range from 100Hz to 50Khz) that reveals fine details of the music better than most headphones, let alone any loudspeaker.
The coherent planar magnetic dipole polar pattern of the DrC2 speakers cancels its own backwave through inverse-phase interference. This 100% sound cancellation in the plane of the diaphragm reduces desktop reflections, eliminates diffraction effects, and transcends the sonic limitations of traditional box enclosures.
Unlike speakers with variable impedance curves that must be energized past a threshold to produce their band-limited response, the DrC2 satellites play the same response throughout their SPL range.
The DrC2 renderer hardware consists of:
1) two satellite speakers;
2) a unique single-enclosure stereo subwoofer housing a pair of 10" high-excursion, low-distortion woofers, specifically designed for seamless integration with the DrC2 satellites; and
3) a dedicated high-end DAC integrated with a high-efficiency (93%) UMAC Class D amplifier, delivering 250W per channel while remaining cool enough for desktop use.
The DrC
2 hardware is optimized for BACCH4Mac+ORC and comes bundled with the
BACCH4Mac Audiophile Edition package. This includes the
BACCH-dSP application, the
BACCH-BM binaural microphone, the RME interface, and the
BACCH-ORC optimal room correction module.
